THE SERVICE WOMEN’S LEGACY :

Honoring Past Trailblazers & How They Are Like Current Servicewomen

Army Women who served in Vietnam were inducted into the U.S. Army Women’s Hall of Fame on March 13, 2012. The Hall of Fame awards are presented to women who have contributed extraordinary service to women in the Army. The podcast above features the first half of their induction ceremony.

In the podcast below, MG Janet Cobb, Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff, G-4 (Operations), remarks on the pivotal role these women played as nurses, translators, navigators, among other specializations. These women enabled the following generations to enter many specialties, which were previously not open to women. Cobb also highlights the commonalities found between servicewomen across generations.

These podcasts are for servicewomen and their supporting communities to watch. There are also podcasts of the Symposium, which uncovers best practices for servicewomen returning home. A complete list of podcasts is below. These podcasts are made possible by Booz Allen Hamilton and Stars & Stripes.

BACK FROM DEPLOYMENT :

What’s Next? Are You Ready for the Change?

Military leaders, government officials, academics, and corporate and non-profit leaders assembled in Washington, D.C. on March 13, 2012 with one question in mind: how can we help servicewomen successfully return to their homes, jobs, and communities? This question was the focus of The Army Women’s 4th Annual Symposium.

The answers offered by these leaders are found in podcasts of the Symposium and are based on their experiences, research, knowledge, lessons learned, and best practices. Podcasts of the Symposium are available for servicewomen and their supporting communities to watch. We launched one podcast per day. These podcasts are made possible by Booz Allen Hamilton and Stars & Stripes.
